I am an experienced piano and theory instructor who has taught for more than 25 years to students of all ages and abilities and successfully prepared students for competitions, recitals, university auditions, and music exams using the RCM and ABRSM syllabus.

I also have more than 10 years as a school music teacher at public and international schools in Toronto and Hong Kong, teaching kindergarten, elementary and high school students choir, band, music theory, musical perception, and general musicianship using the IB, Ontario and Alberta curriculums.

My piano lessons emphasize on building strong technique, exploring stylistic and genre-specific musical features and interpretations as well as appreciation of music. I teach classical, pop, jazz and gospel. Ear training and sight reading are also important aspects in the lesson.

My theory lessons emphasize on rudiments, harmony, and analysis. Basic compositional technique is also explored.

All private lessons are taught in English or Cantonese, with 30, 45 or 60 minute intervals, in person or online.
